Four Paws

Since 2008, we’ve helped more than a thousand dogs and their owners grow in confidence and connection.

Established in January 2008, Four Paws Dog Training Club is a friendly and dedicated not-for-profit organisation located at Hinksey Heights Golf Club in South Hinksey, Oxford. We are within easy reach of Oxford and surrounding towns and villages, offering group training classes for both puppies and adult dogs.

During the past 17 years, we are pleased to have met hundreds of dog owners and trained with their dogs.

Our History

Four Paws Dog Training was founded in 2008 by a group of passionate dog trainers and enthusiasts who wanted to create a supportive, welcoming space for dog owners in Oxfordshire. Starting as a small group holding weekend classes, the club has grown into a thriving community when it moved to the training venue at Hinksey Heights Golf Club in 2016.
Over the years, we’ve helped thousands of dogs and their owners build lasting bonds through effective, positive reinforcement training.

Our club is a proud member of The Kennel Club UK (reference number AH/0826/GCDS), upholding its standards of excellence in dog training and welfare. We have continually adapted our methods to incorporate the latest research in animal behaviour and training techniques, ensuring our classes remain effective and relevant.

Our Mission

At Four Paws Dog Training, our mission is simple:

  • To promote responsible dog ownership and strengthen the relationship between dogs and their owners.
  • To provide professional, compassionate, and fun training tailored to the needs of every dog, from puppies to advanced learners.
  • To foster a community where dog owners can connect, share experiences, and support one another on their training journeys.

We believe every dog deserves the chance to thrive, and every owner deserves the tools and confidence to help them succeed.

Welcome to our classes!

Whether you’re welcoming a playful new puppy into your home or looking to fine-tune the skills of your adult dog, our classes in Oxford provide the perfect opportunity to build confidence, teach essential behaviours, and strengthen the special bond you share with your furry friend.

What We Offer

  • Adult Dog Classes
Ideal for dogs of all ages, our adult classes focus on building essential skills, improving obedience, and addressing specific behavioural challenges. Whether you want to perfect recall, reduce pulling on the lead, or simply enhance your dog’s focus, our experienced trainers are here to help.
  • Puppy Classes
Help your puppy get off to the best possible start with our fun and supportive classes. Designed to promote early socialisation, confidence-building, and good canine manners, these sessions will set a strong foundation for your puppy’s lifelong happiness and behaviour.
  • Kennel Club UK’s Good Citizen Dog Scheme
Our classes include the Kennel Club UK’s Good Citizen Dog Scheme, open to both puppies and adult dogs. Whether you’re starting with the Puppy Foundation or working towards Bronze, Silver, or Gold Awards, these classes are perfect for setting achievable goals and celebrating milestones together. We’ll guide you every step of the way.

Class Schedule

Our classes follow school calendar dates and run in structured terms starting in September, January, and April each year, with a summer break to allow everyone time to relax and enjoy the warmer months. Each term offers a fresh opportunity to join and progress through our tailored programmes, ensuring continuity and clear goals for both you and your dog.

We welcome new members at the start of each term. Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
